What’s the reasoning for this text? Relic from Editor 1 days? Maybe it should be changed to “You need a Google account to use some of the features and services Defold provides.”

Why not allow direct downloads for Editor 2 now without needing to sign up?

Why not allow direct downloads for Editor 2 now without needing to sign up?

As I understand it we have to have signup before download for legal reasons. It may be possible to do like Unity and have the signup from within the editor but that’s for the future. Not a priority right now.

Yes. There are some remaining things to be done in our build systems before we can change that.
