Viewport improvement wishlist

Let’s make a list of editor viewport feature / improvement requests. To help editor team narrow down what to incrementally focus on improving.

Pinging some people who I know have made 3D projects in Defold in the past.

@sergey.lerg @andreas.strangequest @rinkowei

One thing for me would be drawn grid guides when viewport camera is rotated.

Drawing the 3D volume of 3D collision objects would also be nice for 3D level editing in the editor. Since at the moment they are flat which makes them difficult to properly size.

A perspective view for the viewport with options to change would be nice. Looking at 3D scenes without perspective can be weird.

More movement tools would be nice. Such as ability to move around in WASD mode.

Snapping to a grid for both 2d and 3d view.
For 3d view in particular, define your own 3d plane that you can use to snap object to

It would be useful to fix displaying multiple of the same model properly when they are using vertex-space-local in their material.

Could you file a bug for this? I’m pretty sure it has worked at one point.

Improving the rotation widget would be useful so that their rotation is visible.
