I created a project in Defold dashboard. When I open the project in the editor and create a new branch the dialog is not responsive. I can’t do anything except forcing stop the editor.
It’s interested as I can create a branch for Getting Start Tutorial and work on it. I’m using OS X El Captitan 10.11.3.
I realised that the editor is built-in Eclipse but I’ve not got the chance to work around on Defold editor. The following is step that I installed the editor.
Download the Mac package.
Extract and rename as Defold and copy the whole to “home” folder.
Very strange, did you create the “Getting Started Tutorial” branch before moving it to your “home” folder? It could maybe be something strange with permissions.
Does the new project include any strange characters?
I created both of them after moving the whole Defold folder to “home”.
That’s great for me as I can create a new branch now. I’ve tried many times whole day yesterday.
Now I go out site and use another network. I will check again when I reach to my home.
Just to update that . I can’t create a new branch for a new project. I did the following steps :
Create new project in dashboard : Name : Blowing Bubble HD, description : A mix of Angry Bird, Flappy Bird and match-3 game, “No, I’ll start from a blank slate” option.
I see the game in the list when opening project.
Click on new branch. No thing happen , the editor is not responsive. I can do nothing except forcing stop the editor.
Look like the issue occurs due to network. I found the issue at my home network. No issue with another network. I will check more when I get the chance to use other networks.
If that’s an error, where I can find the logs to investigate ?
Note that I only had this problem while in full screen mode. The reason seems to be that the dialog box appears underneath the full screen window somehow.
I was able to work around this problem by going out of full screen mode, and then add a new branch.
Your work around solution resolves the problem. It is able to create new branch for me when I exited full screen mode to drag and drop images from local folders to project explore of which I’m not aware.
