Lua programming language

I really like Defold, but I struggled with the Lua language in that I didn’t have a lot of resources to access it. Please help me reach Lua. thank

Do you have prior programming experience? If you know Python or JavaScript or some other language Lua shouldn’t be hard to pick up and learn. We cover the basics here:

If you are completely new to programming then there’s plenty of videos on YouTube teaching the Lua programming language. Most (99%) of what you learn in those tutorials are directly applicable to Defold:

BTW I would appreciate a recommendation on which video tutorial on Lua that people like the most. Please share your recommendations!

Before starting using Defold, all I knew was ActionScript (Flash). The above link plus Defold docs was all I needed to get going.

I hate doing tutorials though, I much prefer getting started making what I want and looking up exactly what I need and no more. That’s why a full reference works so well for me.

Yes, me too! My hope is that we can find the resources to produce more videos during this year. In the mean time we are relying quite a bit on community created video tutorials and there are quite a few really good ones already:
