No, there is no compulsory loading screen when compiling for most platforms. If you are targeting HTML5 however, there is a brief loading screen that pops up with the Defold logo on it. This screen can be edited to show your own custom visuals if you like.

Indeed, it’s very nice to have complete control over the end product.

To add, there are no splash / attribution requirements with Defold as far as releasing a game. But you are still encouraged to include a Made with Defold logo and link to the site to encourage the community to grow.
