Ios development without iphone

I’m trying to convert my Defold Android game “Tower of Treats” to ios. I’m using xcode 14 and purchased a used Macbook. I even purchased a developers license. My hope was to compile my game and test on the simulator. Is their anyway to do this without purchasing an iPhone?

But simulator performance is not even close to the actual phone. You might be suffer from fps drop.

When trying to create a provisioning profile, it requires me to register a device.
