DEFOLD ENGINE AND EDITOR FEATURE REQUESTS

Suggest engine and editor feature requests:

  1. Improve the editor by saving the workspace
  2. Improve the editor by adding an option to close the project

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe (REQUIRED):

  1. I’m always frustrated when I have to open a project and find the workspace with the layout to rearrange.
  2. I can’t close the current project without kill Defold process (AKA exit the application).

Describe the solution you’d like (REQUIRED):

  1. Save the workspace to file: the size of the side panels (Outline, Assets, Console, etc) should be saved to a file and restored when opening a project.
  2. There should be an option to close the current project and return to the project manager. At the moment there is only the Open option but it creates a new window without closing the old project.

Describe alternatives you’ve considered (REQUIRED):

  1. For each project, save the workspace.
  2. Maybe, the Open project option should close the old window (?)
