How to use the full Iphone X resolution? (SOLVED)

Hey Guys,

I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but I’m not seeing anything about it on the forum already.

Does defold support the full iPhone X resolution… right now my app does not support it, it has the black section on top and bottom.

Anyway around this?

Thanks,
Johnny

You can change the display resolution in the game.project settings under “Display”. Change those values to 2436 x 1125 and you should have what you’re looking for :).

Thanks for responding  I tested this, and everything is just really small… still the black borders… there has to be something special for iPhone X… I’m wondering if it won’t require a separate iOS engine?

Hoping someone on here can shed a little light… if it doesn’t support it, that’s okay too… don’t want to spend a ton of time trying to figure it out if it can’t be done

Okay, figured it out guys… you just have create a launch image for 2436x1125 and tada… I believe that is the only thing I changed. If I’m wrong and I had to do something else while fiddling, I’ll let you all know… unless someone else replies first

Yes, you need to define launch images for your application. If you don’t it goes into a kind of compatibility mode. This is an iOS thing and not a Defold thing.

Still there is a bug/feature missing when it comes to touchable areas on iPhoneX. DEF-3196
