How to release an asset in the Asset Portal?

Hey.

So, I have a pile of lua table utilities I’m thinking of sticking up on the asset portal, saves us all reinventing the wheel.

I can’t find a tutorial on how to do it though. What’s the process?

Read up on how to create Defold library projects. Once you’ve prepared your project you have two options:

  1. The project you wish to share exists in the dashboard:
  • Go to the project dashboard
  • Select your project
  • Select the community tab page
  • Create a community page and follow the steps on that page
  1. The project you wish to share is hosted elsewhere
  • Go to the project dashboard
  • Create a placeholder project to hold your community page
  • Select the community tab page
  • Create a community page and follow the steps on that page

Hey, @rantingbob! Well done on publishing it – it’s a great asset to the community. There is a manual on how to make the most out of your community page. Oh, and if you noticed anything weird, thought anything was difficult, etc. – feel free to DM me feedback.

Honestly, the thing that was “difficult” was that it wasn’t immediately obvious what I should be doing.

My advice would be to link the manual during the publishing process, also, for reasons I’m not aware of it couldn’t read my LICENSE.md. Your auto-license tool also doesn’t support the unlicense.

You’re right – something like the following would be a good addition. Adding it to the backlog :+1:
