How to install Photoshop GUI exporter?

Hi, I guess i’m missing something obvious here. But I have no idea how to install this “Photoshop GUI exporter”:

This is the part in the installation instructions that I don’t understand:
“2. Download the attachment from download link at the top of this page.”

Where is that download link? I can’t see any download link for any ZXP file. (Photoshop extensions have .zxp file extension.)

There is package “Defold-Photoshop-GUI-Exporter-master.zip” available for download, but if I try to install this package with ZXP Installer, I get error message “ZXPInstaller cannot use this type of file. Please use a .zxp file”.

What am I missing? :thinking:

After some searching I found a solution… I post it here for those who might be searching for the same topic in the future:

  • Download file “Defold-Photoshop-GUI-Exporter-master.zip” from GitHub.

  • Extract file

  • Try to find file “PhotoshopGUIExporter.zip” that is somewhere inside that extracted package

  • Extract file “PhotoshopGUIExporter.zip” into this folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions

I have Photoshop 2018, you may have to extract that file into a different folder depending on your Photoshop version. More info can be found here:

That’s it, now you can open this “Photoshop GUI exporter” extension by selecting it from Photoshop’s main menu, “Window > Extensions > Defold GUI Exporter”.

If you encounter error “extension could not be loaded because it was not properly signed” you might need to do some registry editor tweaking. Here are couple links that helped me:
