Is there a way to reduce or remove this? I’m using Defold v1.2.80. It’s an old project and I can’t remember seeing this before.

Are you using texture compression?
We updated the texture compression library in 1.2.180.
Have you tried 1.2.179?
Yes, but the issue is there with it turned off too.
I have now, and the issue is gone! Tested with and without texture compression (File > Preferences > Enable Texture Compression).
Is there a way to use 1.2.180 and avoid this issue?
No, 1.2.180 was the version we change library.
What exactly does “when they are resized a lot” mean?
Are you setting the max size of the texture in the texture profile? Or are you scaling the sprite at runtime?
Scaling at runtime using the orthographic camera extension.
Are you using mipmaps?
Oh, interesting! Mipmaps appear to be used by default, and when I switched them off the issue disappeared when run from the editor. Is this safe to do? I’m targeting HTML5.
Yes, disabling mipmaps is safe to do.
