history in git when things have worked before and i get the same error. Anyone have some idea?

This is not a Dirty Larry problem. It’s a Gooey problem (with the Dirty Larry theme). I released a new version yesterday with a bugfix for the list component. You are probably depending on the master branch which means that you always get the latest version, thus run the risk of breaking changes. You should preferably depend on a specific version, not master. All versions are available here: https://github.com/britzl/gooey/releases

The dirtylarry.list() function requires an additional argument now. Check the docs and the example for details.
