Defold for physical two-dimensional massive multiplayer online

Is Defold viable for a multiplayer running this two-dimensional simulation? I’ve also inspected the source code for this game and saw it used the org.generalrelativity.foam ActionScript library (which is dead).

In short: Yes!

One way of doing it to use a server side physics framework to keep track of changes to the terrain, and keep other collisions on the client side.

In a similar project I’ve used Nakama and Hardon Collider for this on the server side, and the regular Defold collisions on the client side.
