I tried Luanalysis (only available in IntelliJ IDEA), compared it with VS Code and so far Luanalysis beats EmmyLua for me. It does a great job at type checking. Exactly what I was looking for! I haven’t tried it in a real project though. With additional annotations you can have type safety even for messages. Yaay!
