Now that Oracle has decided to lock their JDK behind a login, automated downloads for Continuous Integration builds and tests have become much harder. I remember in another post that it was mentioned Bob should soon be getting a replacement. Is there any more word on that?
Yes, we still have a plan to replace bob, but it’s not going to happen soon I’m afraid. What kind of continuous integration system are you using? I think popular ones such as Travis-CI have the JDK version as a choice when you setup the build environment so that you don’t have to download it yourself.

Travis CI does have an Oracle JDK option, but Gitlab simply has you pick a docker hub container and sadly there are none I could find that still worked. I will likely just make my docker image then since I know the replacement will not be coming soon!

Yes, that makes sense! Downloading and installing for every build will slow things down significantly.
