Anyone see where Opera is getting into gaming?

Opera has released a gaming browser Opera GX and they also bought out Gamemaker.

I havent used Opera in years- I dont use chrome much, uninstalled firefox, and currently use brave. But if Opera is offering a fast light browser free of bloatware and optimized for gaming that is something I look forward to testing as an alternative to chromium stuff.

But I wonder if gaming centered browsers are about to be come a big thing?

I think it will be fairly niche to be honest, but who knows?

OperaGX is not for gaming, but for gamers.

OperaGX is an attempt at an optimized browser to use while playing high performance PC games, not webgames. It is catered toward gamers who are drawn to Razor style gaming products. Most of what it is marketed as is already possible in other browsers using various extensions.

Builtin network limiter is cool. So a site can’t randomly tank your connection if it wants to load a video ad. Same with RAM and CPU limiters of tabs.

The integrations may also be useful if using them integrated has a lower memory / cpu footprint than using the dedicated apps.

Opera already had a builtin free VPN, which when it was first introduced was discovered to not be a true VPN. Not sure if that has changed.
