I recently started using Defold and following the War Battles Tutorial turned into a prototype for a top down shooter.
Now I’m wondering if it’s worth turning into a real game.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Nice game! Congratulations! ![]()
I had fun destroying tanks, you can still tinker with it more (camera, levels, more enemy types) or just jump to the next project ![]()
Thanks for the feedback and advice!
I was thinking:
I hope at least to add the parts that require Defold specific knowledge.
sound effects should be the first task you get done
I added sound.
Opinions are welcome.

Creedence Clearwater Revival makes everything better but I changed the music to something licensed under Creative Commons.
After the initial post I decided to quit working on this game but I changed my mind so I made some updates.
The updated game can be played here: War Battles - Prophecy
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
(In case the FPS drops significantly below 60, for the web version, I would highly appreciate if you let me know.)
Mostly I tried to make it more “juicy” so I added screen shake, screen tint, particles( dust, smoke, debris, soot, sparks), a shader to animate the water, a shader to animate the trees(this one needs more work for sure), player silhouette is visible when covered by objects, tanks leave behind debris when destroyed, tanks are knockedback when hit by bullets, thanks should move more naturaly(this needs more work). Also, now it’s possible to pause the game(pressing P) and to see the FPS(pressing i).
For reference, the previous version can be played here: War Battles - Prophecy (OLD)
