Both steam and gog take 30/70 cut , 30%. So pretty much the same depending on sale or not pricing.
All right! Finally got around to playing this. Very addicting indeed! It’s going to have to compete for my spare time with Cyberpunk 2077, but I think I’ll squeeze a few games in every day.
The only minor gripe I have is the way unlocks are shown at the end of a run. On my first one I got over 12 of those and they were showing up so slow I gave up at #4. I’d like to see an option to click to move on on that. Other than that I can’t think of anything. Amazing game!
Time to make an announcement - Void Scrappers is coming to the Switch! Launching March 3rd!
congratulations!! Hope everything goes well with the launch.
That’s amazing!
How did you find the publishing process compared to Steam?
Thank you!
I must unfortunately say it’s more complicated than Steam. It can be done (I’ve managed, twice!) but I find the process can be harder than it needs to be.
Congratulations! Can’t wait!
Played this for the first time tonight. Impressive! Have never played a game like this… thought it was a bit jarring at first not having to manually shoot the weapons, but that’s just my inexperience talking.
…also, is wave 40 the maximum? I got there on my first try without being hit once, then was swarmed and died. Hoping it gets harder.
Thanks!
Reaching wave 40 is a win. Defeating the boss is a “win+”. Some people manage to create builds that get beyond wave 100, but that’s not really intended and eventually the game runs out of resources. I tell those people they’ve truly beat the game.
Void Scrappers is out on the Nintendo Switch!
Available in the Americas, Europe, and Japan regions.
Grab it now if you’d like to waste time on the go
(Love seeing the Switch logo before the trailer )
Great achievement, congratulations! Care to comment on the process of porting to Switch? How was the API integration? Any major hurdles?
Porting to Switch is quite easy thanks to Defold. I keep API integration at a minimum, so can’t really comment on that part. The biggest hurdle is the administration needed - the dashboards can be byzantine at times (and that’s compared to Steam). It can be hard to be accepted as a developer in the first place, but once you’re in you’re in (thanks Fates of Ort).
Hi Alex,
I found out about your game when I was looking for a game engine to learn.
Played quite a bit in itch.io which I thought was great already.
Decided to get the Switch version because I would like to know how well it performed in it.
I tried it both in handheld mode and docked mode.
I enjoyed most in docked mode because I could see things more clear
This felt even better than the itch.io! Really enjoyed it! Great job!
Do you have any plan to make developer blog for your games? Interested to learn more from your experience.
Thank you again
Thank you very much @MrTan ! I think there’s a minor performance boost while docked as well, not sure why!
I’m not planning on dev blogs more detailed than this, but I’m always open to answering questions.
I found the post mortem’s to be very insightful.
I had bought this game before I knew it was made in Defold or that it was from a colleague here on the forum. But I don’t usually play much, I didn’t even have Steam installed.
But the time has come to get your hands dirty, lol
Best of luck, Scrapper!
Seriously though thanks for the support and hope you enjoy it! What a small world!
Let me know if the PT-BR translation is good. I’ve heard the translation for Void Scrappers is better than the one for BORE BLASTERS
The translation into Portuguese was very good.
The game is great. Congratulations! I imagine how much work you had to do with every detail.
I left a positive review on Steam.
Thank you very much!
