Updated terms of service and privacy policy

As you may have heard, from today, 25 May there is a change in the laws relating to data protection in Europe known as the General Data Protection Regulation.

We wanted to drop you a message to let you know how you can exercise some of your rights under the GDPR, including the right to be forgotten and the right to subject access.

Right to be Forgotten: You can delete your Defold account by logging into the Defold dashboard, select your user settings and then proceed to delete your account by selecting the delete button. Note that if you are the owner of projects with members you’ll need to transfer ownership to another member before you can delete your user account. Please note that if there are any third party copies of your information which you have made available to them via the use of our Services (for example, a collaborator that you allow to interact with you on one of your Projects), we may not be able to amend or delete it because it may not be in our control.

Right of Access: You have a right to know what information we hold about you and in some cases to have the information communicated to you. If you wish to exercise this right please contact us at info@defold.com letting us know that you wish to exercise your right of access and what information in particular you would like to receive.

We’ve updated our Privacy Policy to reflect the changes under GDPR. Here are some highlights of what has changed in the Privacy Policy:

  • we’ve provided more details around how you can exercise your rights in respect of your personal information, including the right to be forgotten and the right to subject access; and

  • we’ve set out information required under GDPR, including what legal bases we use to process your information.

We’ve also removed the Player Privacy Policy as the data we collect is user anonymous (random device ID is generated). So if you are using the Defold analytics services and have previously added our Player Privacy Policy to your privacy policy, you can now remove it.

You have the right not to receive direct marketing emails from King. If you would like to opt-out of receiving marketing emails, please click the update email preferences link in any marketing email received from us.
