This is another kind of “note to future self”.

I haven’t been updating because I figured out a way to do certain things in UE4 that have gotten me stuck for months and I’m working on that along with some webdev stuff I’m going through.

It has to do with Unreal’s way of doing animation, it’s really good for anything 3D but trying to use it with sprites it has been a real PITA.

And I’m not even sure if it will work in multiplayer because of “ownership”, but well, we’ll see.

I preemptively assumed that it’s not going to work so I added another way of animating characters using “voxels”.

I think it looks really cool and by the way people are reacting to a Doom mod called Voxel Doom I’m thinking about using it on my game and forget about sprites completely.

I made a prototype some years ago to experiment with this concept.

I’m sure these techniques can work with Defold with great results and I’ll “port” them over when the time comes, but now I need to release something ASAP.
