The rapid game development event known as Ludum Dare was wrapping up its 48th event last weekend.
Participants had to produce a game from scratch in just a few days. Each entry must come from a single person in the Compo category or from a team in the Jam category and tie into the event’s theme.
Great! Thinking loud here but I wonder if there’s any tutorial on 3D shooters in Defold, maybe that’s something the community could find useful otherwise
Amazing! I finally got lost, but I had a lot of fun! Amazing how with those basic shapes and fog, you created an atmospheric environment and a mysterious tension
EDIT: Ok, I found the base and after changing the approach for exploration - completed it! Thank you!
I plan to make a simple 3D FPS project from this game by cleaning it up and then proposing it to you and the Defold team as a template. Will Defold be interested in that? Will it increase the engine’s popularity? Imagine something like that:
Yes, I think that we need more examples and tutorials around 3D since there seems to be a bit of a gap in that department, so anything you can share is useful! Especially things like an FPS template could really help people out with understanding some concepts around 3D cameras and such!
The games are great! I see that they have a low amount of ratings. The point of LD isn’t only to develop your game but also, to play&rate other games, and I highly recommend doing that and rate at least 30 games. Otherwise, your games will be underrated!
