The CrazyGames x Defold: Jam Warmup Live special stream:
Join us for CrazyGames x Defold: Jam Warmup Live , a special pre-jam livestream happening tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10 at 5 PM CEST! We’ll be joined by the Defold team to talk about:
What makes the Defold engine perfect for fast, web-based game development,
How to approach a 3-day game jam successfully,
Tips, templates, and tools to help you get started fast
There’s a rule against starting development before the jam begins, but there’s also permission to use pre-made assets. How about pulling Lua functionality from previous projects? For example, reusing a Lua module that helps with key bindings, or reusing a Lua module that handles saving and loading data from JSON files? I assume those are fine, since they’re no different than fetching dependencies from the Asset Portal.
Yes, that is standard prep work for any new project, game jam or otherwise. It’s working on the actual game that should take place when the jam has started.
Also make sure to join the Discord server for the jam if you have specific questions about the jam.
How can we see all participants and play the games?
I wanted to join and actually had an idea, but unfortunately, some other freelance jobs got in the way
I was planning to do something like this: Remnants of Naezith on Steam (waaay simpler and in a more casual style), using my tile raycast lib.
