Iron Skies is a retro-style vintage-plane shmup inspired by the 1942 series of games, Loop Master and War Against Destiny in particular.
Currently in early-mid development, I’m targetting mid December 2026 for release on Steam for Windows, Linux/SteamOS. Nintendo Switch version early next year.
There are 3 planes to choose from, each with a special weapon and varying stats - armour, gun and speed. Various power-ups, upgrades and bonuses can be collected during play, of course.
The full game will be a 7-stage affair, each stage in a distinct environment. As shmups tend to be quite short, there will be plenty of incentives to replay the game to experience new things.
The Steam page is live with a short demo for anyone wanting to try out the game at this early stage.
