Would you mind trying with a fresh download of the editor? We did a fix for this a while back and others have reported that it is working. I’m thinking that you either haven’t received the automatic update or that something is wrong with it (which is why I’m asking about a fresh install).

I redownloaded it and it came up with the same error.Is there anything else it could have been?
From where are you running Defold? Maybe Run as Administrator?
I am running from my downloads.
I will try to run as admin.
Running as admin still comes up with the same error.
I have tried moving folders, running as admin and redownloading and the error is always there.

I’ve used multiple modems and connected to different internet but that doesn’t do anything.

You may skip that by working with offline projects. At this point I’d try completely different computer, virtual machine or a different OS.
I don’t have another computer so how would I find a virtual machine.
Before I go downloading anything does anyone know what kind of error it is?
like what might have caused it?

It dosesn’t.
Then you have it. Your network setup or ISP blocks the traffic on port 9998, which is required for Defold. It’s sad that Defold uses non-standard ports, such problems arise all the time.
You might be able to use VPN to bypass that.
I’ve forwarded the question internally. Hopefully it’s something we can change.
