I was pleasantly surprised that I saw something for defold gamedev on Humble Bundle. Newbies will probably benefit from this as it puts most of what you need to start in one place.

I have it and it’s awesome, I can totally recommend it! Full bundle also includes Game Design courses that are very good for beginners (but not only). There are also Art courses, e.g. on Pixel Art - for PS/Gimp, but the general rules and tips are useful for any tool imho
