High Resolution Graphics Scaling: GO or the Sprite?

Hi folks, can someone explain the below from the manual regarding the high resolution graphics:

“But if you import high res images and scale them to 0.5x they will be high dpi on screen.”

I searched the forum and couldn’t find the answer.

What “import” and “scale” is refering to in this context? Do we import the full res graphics and then scale the GO or the Sprite component to 0.5 scale? In the latest version of the editor, you can set the scale of the GO and it’s Sprite independently.

I have a feeling it’s the GO that needs to be scaled to 0.5 (with the High Dpi checked), and child Sprite should stay as 1 scale. Is this correct?
