I finally have a Web build of Unexpected Tasks to share. It’s a cozy time-management game where you clear obstacles, gather resources, build things and help your crew restore the kingdom.
There are 5 levels and a playthrough should take around 30 minutes. I’ve tested it on both PC and mobile. If you have a moment, give it a try!
Any feedback, bugs or comments are very welcome. Comments on the game page too! I’d also love to hear what you think about the page itself.
And if you wishlist it on Steam, extra thanks for that!
I think you can be a bit more generous with the stars on Level 1
Overall, the game works really nicely and feels smooth. I think you may need to adjust the visibility of some objects a bit, though. For example, on Level 2 it initially looked impossible to do anything, and it took me some time to notice that I had another worker in a different building.
Maybe the bases could use a bit more contrast, so it’s easier for the player to notice where they are in the puzzle. Maybe I clicked too fast when the level started and I did not noticed the blinking areas.
Yeah, sometimes visibility is an issue, but that’s a charm of this game. I think I didn’t like the level 008 the most, because stuff was over saturated there:
The base locations are highlighted at the start of the level, but the highlight disappears after the first click, when the timer starts. I’ll add a minimum display time of around 5 seconds later, just to make sure players have a chance to notice it.
