Defold Developer Grants

For a while now, we have been planning to launch a grant for developers in the form of traffic for great games made with Defold. We will most likely wait until the beginning of next year to tell “everyone”, but we have actually opened up for a first pilot run of the Defold Developer Grants and I wanted to let the Defold community in on our secret. You can read all about it here https://www.defold.com/grants/.

In short, we will provide 10 million ad impressions per quarter during next year for one game per quarter (so a total of 40M impressions split between 4 games). The pilot run is the first quarter next year and the first 10M impressions. Applications for the pilot will close at the end of this year.

If you want to apply for the grant, head over to the grants page and submit your game. Please note the rules for qualifying stated on the page. You will not have a bigger chance of winning if you submit today vs end of December.

Questions and feedback are as always, most welcome!

I was working on an android game in native Java for roughly 3 years now with various pauses because of life/ college(just finish college this past week in Graphic Design) and work. I came across Defold roughly 4 weeks ago and and I’ve already made a very simple jumping game that I plan to share with the community. I’m planning to convert the entire game that I was working on to Defold, I hope I can get it done by then. I love the workflow possible with Defold, I think I could get it done if I work on it 5 hours a day starting now.

Best of luck to you! What kind of game is it?

Its a platformer that could be considered 1/2 Megaman, 1/4 Mario, and 1/4 Metroid. Its my first “Medium sized” game I started working on. I have a few smaller games published on Googleplay under: CGC Creative https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=CGC+Creative&hl=en
