Was a bit eager to update to latest Mac OS and to my surprise a fresh downloaded version of Defold editor fails to launch. Error message:
“Defold” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.
So minor update, I could actually run the editor after opening the Security & Privacy settings on macOS and allowing Defold to run, had to do it twice though, and then the dialog still complained that Defold wanted to monitor my keyboard input, why is that?
I did an initial test and manually notarized the 1.2.163 version of the Defold editor with Apple. That version should now be notarized and you shouldn’t get any warnings. I’m not sure about editor updates etc. We will continue to work on this and integrate the notarization in the release flow.
