Alpha.beat - a mobile word game

Alpha.beat is my newest release in Defold.

It’s actually a conversion of an earlier game I had made in microStudio, but this time more polished and packaged as a mobile game. It’s a boggle-like word search on a 5x5 letter grid. There’s a small twist with empty tiles or tiles containing more than one letter.

The game supports English and Greek gameplay.

Each day, all players across the world play the same grid and are compared on the leaderboards.

I tried to avoid any account-creation, email entering etc; you choose a name (if you want), the game assigns you a short password and you can use it to restore your account on any other device.

I also tried to make monetization as less annoying as possible; there are no ads during gameplay or in between screens; If you run out of ideas, you can earn hints if you guess words and collect stars; if you still want more hints, you can watch a short video ad, initiated only by the player.

All in all, apart from keyboard handling on Android which always annoys me, developing Alpha.beat was a very pleasant experience.
