Gamepad support seems to be broken on Linux, at least on Steam Deck. Trying my Evolution game and with 1.4.4 I get no input and no error messages. On 1.4.3 I get the gamepad input.
@jhonny.goransson could it be related to your gamepad driver changes somehow?
Maybe, need to verify it but it’s likely I guess.
The beta has been updated with support for the latest XCode and macOS/iOS sdks.
The beta server for macOS has also been updated to minimum version of 10.9.
(OSX Mavericks from 2013).
It was necessary since some of the sdk headers are moving away from too versions, and we need to have a decent support using newer headers.

Just tested the game on Steam Deck, the gamepad works!
