Yes! Good stuff. Time to project-list-window decreased from 15.042sec to 5.212sec, on Linux. Thanks.

Startup is much faster on my system too. Thanks!

A new addition in the beta:

NEW: (#13223) ‘Add a preference to completely disable Lua language servers’ by vlaaad
This is useful when working on large projects where the coding is done outside the Defold editor, since LuaLS typically uses a lot of memory.

Quick question: should using the update link in Defold editor be able to upgrade me to 1.14.0 BETA?

I’m not sure if I was on 1.13.1 or 1.13.2 (I assumed I was on 1.13.1 and clicked update). Was surprised on start-up afterwards to see 1.14.0 stable release notes.

The updates are for a given channel, so e.g. if you were on 1.13.2 stable, the newest proposed update is (spoiler alert! ) 1.14.0. If you’d be on beta, there shouldn’t be an update afaik.

Maybe there was by accident?

Just tried to download from the website to downgrade and also got 1.14.0. Then went to the link for older releases and saw this:

EDIT: note, I may be making a lot of assumptions about the release process, but seemed like BETA should be opt-in only by manual download from Github.

We are preparing 1.14.0 for release. As part of that, we are merging it into master, which makes it stable. This happens before the forum post, etc. So it is a “legal” update to the latest stable version.

Aha OK, sorry for the noise, just unfortunate timing on my part… I wrongly assumed beta would be longer.

PS. indeed the broken link to a missing release forum post in the change log got me.

My defold said there is an update ready. And says it’s 1.14.0. Is this an accident? Or is it released now?

But the link given leads to this:

Yes, now it is:
