I just remembered a project @ross.grams made a while back for curved worlds shader + lights and shadows by @dragosha, that might perfectly suit the challenge!
But, when I opened it in the latest Defold, a few errors came up regarding changes in Defold itself, so I submitted a PR to update it - until it’s merged into the main repo, please use the fork:
