Dear Defolder,
It has been this way for a while and I always assumed that it would be fixed soon but now I’m starting to think that it was intentional and now the star counts are static, but I don’t understand what purpose this would server? Before the asset page renovation, you could star projects, I know that for certain.
Why can’t Defold Assets be starred anymore?

The assets can be starred, they are GitHub stars. So if you like an asset go to its GitHub page and give it a star. There is an automated system to update the star count of projects as they arrive.
The reason is the site was simplified and no longer has accounts associated with it.

Exactly. The site is statically generated and we also no longer have any user account mechanism. We rely on GitHub stars and there is a GitHub Action that updates star counts hourly and notifies the site to rebuild.
