I am new here to Defold and so far I really enjoy using this program. I do have a question regarding using a tileset. I have a very large tileset that I use for the game I am working on and I do like that I can create levels directly in the program Since my tiles are 16x16 it is taking me a very long time to create the levels and even just the complete picture of a tree for example. Now to my questions… is there a way to grab multiple tiles from the tileset or do I have to continue one at a time? Second question since my tileset is large is there a way to zoom in on the tileset after I press the space bar?
If not should I separate my one large tileset into multiple different tilesets? If I do that will I still be able to use all of them on the same map?
I am using my phone to send this so if there are mistakes in my text I apologize.
your best bet is to get an itch.io account, and download Tiled for free, it can export directly to Defold, and has a lot more editing features, one of which is selection of multiple tiles
Tiled is an excellent external tool that recently got Defold export format support. But you can also shift-select a rectangular area of already drawn tiles and use those as a brush. This should speed things up for you.
