you need to save the level atlas otherwise the spike animation will not come up as a possible choice !

Yes. You need to save all edits you do, all the time.

i will from now on
but i feel that being the first tutorial that people take it maybe should be made a bit clearer so that novices dont get stuck and fall out

it does say save on step 8 , so i guess it should say that as well after step2

Yeah, we have this pretty early:

…and try to say “save the file” at the end of every single step. Browsing through the tutorial I see that there are a couple of places where we don’t explicitly say that. I’ll add it.
