# RAM Usage problems

Is it normal that Defold consumes a lot of RAM?  
I’ve been having problems with RAM consumption when I open Defold. Even the mouse gets stuck for minutes while using Defold.  
My computer is not that weak, I have a Core i7 3rd generation and 8GB RAM.  
Perhaps the problem really is on my computer, hence the question: Am I the only one having this problem?

The Defold editor uses up to a certain percentage of available memory, regardless of how much it is.

I’m not sure this is memory related. It could be if you are maxing out memory with other resource intensive software at the same time and the OS needs to swap out memory or something like that.

Let me check a couple of things and get back to you here.
