I am having difficulties obtaining a promo code as well. I want to start working with it immediately. The framework appears well designed. Are the codes no longer being generated?
How long does it normally take? Should I expect it within a week? What I am afraid of is it being blocked or considered as spam through email.
In the meantime, I am in the process of going through LUA, and deciding what additional tools I may need. It seems the tile editor I created for Unity still might be applicable. It depends on what Defold provides out of the box. It is tough to tell without touching it.
For characters and game elements, it seems logical options include Spriter or Spine. Spriter and “Essental” Spine both with modest costs provide character animation by saving each frame as image. The images can be imported into Defold which we would utilize Flip-Book animation. However, “Professional” Spine with the cost of about $300 can export bone and mesh data. Defold has inherit support for this.
If you can’t tell, I am eager to start working with it. Right now, I have the time and would want to make the most of it. I really need the PROMO code.
I have written back and received responses regarding which e-mail address to use; I attempted several. However, I am not sure when to expect or how I receive the promo code. I seem to get a response once a day in the morning regarding previous questions. Like most developers, I’ve worked with a number of languages, and would find it nice to start experimenting with the code in LUA with regards to Defold’s framework. The weekend is approaching quickly…
OK, I finally found the the email from Defold to activate with the promotion code. Gmail organized it under a promotions tab within my inbox. A folder that I never look at. Unfortunately, the two codes that are in there did not work. Perhaps a new one is on the way?
