Mark as solved as opposed to thank? (SOLVED)

Is it the accepted etiquette on this forum to append (SOLVED) to the post title rather than to reply with a thank you?

Saying thanks mean that the info was useful to you and the SOLVED mark in the post indicates that the problem was resolved so I think you should do both whenever possible.
