Loading Editor1 project in Editor2 - .particlefx files "appear damaged" (SOLVED)

Hello!

I am attempting to open an Editor 1 project in Editor 2. When building, my .particlefx files trigger build errors like this:

If I attempt to open one of them, I get the following error:

Thanks for any help

Editor 2 is a bit more stringent with the files being correct. In Editor 1 you can create particle fx files and skip setting some properties. If you open the file in Editor 1, the properties view should give an indication what the missing value is.

Opened in Editor 1, and I am unable to figure out what values are missing.

Overall structure is as follows:

Hmmm, yes it looks all correct. You may have hit a bug then. Would you mind sharing the file?

Sure thing. File here:

attunement_drag.zip (967 Bytes)

Happy to add you to the project as well if that would help. Already have Mathias Westerdahl and Johan Beck-Noren on there from a previous issue!

Dropped the file in a test project and it opened just fine so there is something weird going on here:

If you add me I’ll see if I can find the culprit. mikael at sicher dot org is my email.

Just grabbed the project and the file opens fine. Weird. Do you have local changes?

Do you mean if I have changes that aren’t synced? If so, no. I synced up my Editor 1 version to master, then created the project in Editor 2 and downloaded the master branch. The first thing I did was try to build.

Ok, I guess that you have tried restarting the editor?

Got it! The issue was I was running an old version of Editor 2. I am so used to Editor 1 pushing updates that I didn’t realise Editor 2 wasn’t doing the same. Bit of a waste of your time - so apologies for that.

No worries! Good that it got sorted.

Btw, check out the build time in Editor 2. It’s way faster.
