# Google Play In-app billing version 5

We have migrated our In-app purchase extension from Google Play Billing 3 to Google Play Billing 5.

Google notes that “Starting on August 2, 2022, all new apps must use Billing Library version 4 or newer. By November 1, 2022, all updates to existing apps must use Billing Library version 4 or newer”

The new version works exactly like before for traditional one-time in-app purchases. For subscriptions there are pretty big changes on Google Play with new functionality to provide different subscription offers to users. The updated version of the In-app purchase extension reflects this. If your game uses subscriptions please pay extra attention to the release notes:
