Google Analytics - Player Permission needed?

Hi there!

A very basic question. Do you think I have to ask the player permission to send play data (and ONLY play data) to google analytics? I don’t know what is the standard in respect to this.

I think that should be stated in your game Privacy & Policy .
and it is not necessary to ask him for the permission , unless you are using ads for some countries (Admob for example ).
For the users in European Area ,you have to get their consent for using personal data for showing targeted ads .

For the moment we have only a demo so no Privacy & Policy. We have no ads, we are just collecting play data: cleared levels, failed levels, scores…

So should I add a text about this? something like: “This demo collects play data via Google Analytics”?

Making a privacy policy is not that complicated thing.
you can use one of the online tools to make one like Privacy & Policy Generator.
Then you can refer to it from you game/demo download page .
