Error creating new game object files

Hi.

I’m getting an error when creating a new game object file.

Here’s a screenshot of that error: http://puu.sh/pMvEx/0740ab1f03.png
And here’s the error log: http://pastebin.com/GH6ETYw9

It doesn’t seem to happen with other type of files.

Thank you.

Hmm, the log suggests the file “/main/controller.go” cannot be found: “File not found: crepo://cr.defold.se:9998/projects/17491/30005/branches/Main?path=/main/controller.go”

Could this be related to you problem?

Also, can you build your project without errors? (before adding the new_file.go)

It seems to work fine for me, so I think I need some more info about this.
What are your steps to reproduce this issue?

First of all, I made a small mistake because the log and the screenshot are about two different objects, one called controler.go and the other new_file.go, so that’s not part of the problem.

Basically I got the error as soon as I created the game object via the right click menu -> new. Also this is not consistent, like sometimes it lets me create the object and sometimes not. I’m guessing it is a problem of comunication between my PC and the server…

Finally, yes: I can build the project fine without any errors.

So, you right click in the “Project Explorer”, and choose “New” -> “Game Object File” ?

At this point, no server is involved. It’s only writing the file to your hard drive.

Perhaps you could try to start the editor in administrator mode? (What windows version are you using?)

Right click in “Project explorer”
“New” -> "Game Object File"
A window opens where I can enter the path and the name of the file.
Hit "Finish"
I see the new game object in the Project explorer, but without the [A] in front of it like the other working files I created (btw what does that mean?)
A new tab opens in the editor that should show the game object, but I see the error in the picture
After a couple of seconds the file disappears from the explorer.

Also, for some reason it seems to work fine now.

I’m using Windows 7.

Do you have any antivirus that could be messing with your files? The [A] means “added”. There are also [M] “modified”, [D] “deleted” and [R] “renamed”.

I have uninstalled another program that it looks like it was interfering with Defold. If the problem appears again I’ll write again here.

Thanks for your help anyway!

Ah, nice that you got it working! What program was it?

Several National Instruments applications that got installed when I installed LabVIEW 15.
