You should really, really take the time and go through the Side Scroller tutorial. It explains all of this in a step by step manner. It will take you maybe 20 minutes.

I second this. It’s not that we don’t want to help, but it really isn’t the most effective way to learn something new. There’s a few core concepts that you need to learn about Defold and the tutorial @sicher suggested will cover these. It will save us all some frustration and in the long run it will benefit your own projects if you have a good understanding of the Defold core concepts.
