It’s an easy solution i bet, but I’m quite lazy.
What exactly is not working? Is it giving you an error?
Well, it goes on a page that shows defold is on, but the page is just a loading screen, no error page, just start up, but also i had it on for 7 minutes straight and it STILL didn’t come on.
but it might be because I’m on a low end device as well.
Hmm, maybe try running it as administrator? You can find the .exe by right-click Defold in Steam, then clicking Manage > Browse local files
. I don’t know a lot about Windows, so I can’t help that much.
One thing, I’m not on windows, I’m on Linux…
btw at this time I have not done what you said to do
I now have done what you said, what do I do next?
If running as admin didn’t help, then try running it in a terminal and paste the output here. On my Linux machine, the command is:
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Defold/Defold
It started it. I will check back in a few minutes to tell you the results, thank you for the help!
Nothing has changed so far, but my hopes aren’t that low!
Ok, so it didn’t work, I mean it started, but it didn’t start to what i wanted it to be, its just on the loading screen.
Were there any errors printed to the terminal?
No, but there was a warning. Well, it might be a error, but idk.It said: Gdk-WARNING **: 20:38:15.271: XSetErrorHandler() called with a GDK error trap pushed. Don’t do that.
That shows up for me too, it shouldn’t be the problem. Could you put the full output in a pastebin or something similar so I can take a look?
Please download it from here and try to run: Download Defold

Yes, please share the console output. I’m sure there’s a clue there. Also share now of the specs off your system. OS and hardware. Also check your graphics drivers. Are they up to date?
