After spending a week for evaluating Defold, we decided to use Defold for our 2d casual game development. Personally, I love the Defold tutorials mostly as they are very practical, the best place to learn how to make “ready to production” games, specially , 2d games.

The Defold editor is very cool too. We’re familiar with Eclipse IDE, it’s so easy to use it. Although, we’ve never known Lua before, but it is there’s no problem as Lua is also “easy to learn” programming language.

The game we planned to release in May named as Blowing Bubble HD, a full version of the game which has been published in stores. The old one call as Blowing Bubble which contains very short game play of the new one, the old game arts are not nice enough.

Blowing Bubble made in LibGDX + RoboVM (iOS version).

For short and quick comment, I’d like the integration with Google Play Service and Apple Game Center. As we just want to add simple social service such as Leaderboard and Achievement.

Yes , Blowing Bubble made in LibGDX. Unlucky, RoboVM is coming down due to Microsoft and Xamarin.

Exactly, we use Overlap2D as the editor. We’re facing some problems with physic when using the editor. That’s why we are using Defold for Blowing Bubble HD. You can see the trailer, specially the camera , I’m using codes to make the videos with some modification of a video editor.

Any chance for a long slow comment or a blogpost please?
The community and Defold team would love to hear your experience. Esp that you have that unique experience to compare Defold to libgdx approach!
